ARTS OF KOREA GALLERY
Within the context of the large museum, the 1,600 sf Gallery is designed to provide a space of calmness and light that conveys the spirit of Korea. A diffused, natural light washes the white surfaces of the gallery to create a light quality and feeling of openness germane to Korean architecture. The gallery is a square room defined by perimeter glass display cases that provide for the flexible display of ceramics, painting and sculpture.
“A Jewel Box of Korean Culture... The New Arts of Korea Gallery... is a compact, glowing lantern of a room, human scale and filled with lustrous things.” —The New York Times
